Valero Energy Corp. wants U.S. EPA to tweak its renewable fuel standard.

The RFS requires oil refiners and importers to demonstrate compliance with its ethanol-blending program. Valero is asking the agency to consider putting the onus on fuel sellers at loading racks, where fuel trucks pick up their product, to prove they are blending the biofuels.

Valero is the country’s largest independent refiner, and it’s asking more of other fuel sellers, including refiners, importers, rack blenders and large retailers.
