US Ethanol production reaches record high

In Washington, according to EIA data as analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 994,000 barrels per day (b/d)—or 41.75 million gallons daily. That is up 14,000 b/d from the week before and an all-time record high. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 985,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 15.10 billion gallons.

Stocks of ethanol stood at 19.8 million barrels. That is a 4.2% decrease from last week. Imports of ethanol were zero b/d for the 24th time in 25 weeks. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 405.5 million gallons daily. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 902,000 b/d. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.30%.

On the co-products side, ethanol producers were using 15.071 million bushels of corn to produce ethanol and 110,933 metric tons of livestock feed, 98,898 metric tons of which were distillers grains. The rest is comprised of corn gluten feed and corn gluten meal. Additionally, ethanol producers were providing 5.85 million pounds of corn distillers oil daily.
