After a busy day of testimony, Pruitt appeared on Fox News on Tuesday in front of the White House, where he was reportedly meeting with principals of the National Security Council. Pruitt discussed the recent Philadelphia Energy Solutions bankruptcy and its relationship to the Renewable Fuel Standard. “As you know … that Renewable Fuels Standard statute is something that impacts our economy and sometimes in a very difficult way. This is an example of that,” Pruitt said of PES. “Something called the RIN market, where people have to buy RINs to show they’ve blended a certain amount of fuel with ethanol and whatnot. This is an issue that as we talk with Congress, we need RIN reform. We need RFS reform in this area.”
