The Nebraska Corn Board (NCB), along with the corn checkoff programs from Kansas and Missouri, will provide California fuel retailers $1.25 million for infrastructure over the next year to increase availability of E85 supplied by Pearson Fuels, the company said Tuesday. Greg Jones, Pearson’s director of business development, said the money is not a grant, but “a redirection of the funds each state typically earmarks toward their ‘in-state’ E85 retail infrastructure.” “They are taking some of those funds and redirecting to California,” he added. The money will be distributed on a per-station basis, according to Jones. “We will decide on a case-by-case basis how much we want to invest in a particular E85 station,” he said.
