Oil refiners decry EPA plan to shield ag from RFS exemption impacts

The Fueling American Jobs Coalition is pushing back against EPA’s proposal to fully reallocate additional 2025 small refinery exemption volumes onto other refiners. The group made up of independent oil firms and union workers says the plan threatens to raise gasoline and diesel prices beyond increases due to biofuel-blending rules. “EPA should pursue a balanced policy that supports American agriculture without sacrificing fuel affordability, refinery jobs, or domestic energy production,” the coalition says.

Renewable fuel producers and farmers strongly reject claims that Renewable Fuel Standard policy drives up prices at the pump. They say the rules bring costs down and encourage use of domestically grown fuels.
