Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts (R) and Iowa Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) is hosting a press conference on Friday to discuss EPA’s proposed 2014-2016 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS2) targets, Reynolds announced Tuesday.

The press event will be held at Novozymes’ Blair, Neb., plant, which makes enzymes for renewable fuels.

“Ricketts and Reynolds will be joined by leadership from Novozymes, Nebraska Farm Bureau and other community leaders,” the Reynolds press release noted.

The event will be held from 10 a.m.-10:30 a.m. CT.

In EPA’s long-awaited 2014-2016 RFS proposal, the agency aims to scale back conventional biofuel targets to account for concern surrounding the ethanol blendwall, while calling for a greater amount of second-generation biofuels.

Public comments on the proposal are being accepted through next Monday, July 27.
