The pump is scheduled to open Aug. 5. A grand opening from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. will include refreshments, giveaways, and drawings.
The ethanol board said owners of flex-fuel vehicles can save 20 cents per gallon by using E20, E30, and E85 gas-ethanol blends. Ethanol opponents say the savings are eclipsed by decreased gas mileage.
The new pump is one of about 80 in Nebraska to offer a variety of ethanol fuel blends, including E10, E20, E30 and E85. The Nebraska Ethanol Board said fuels blended with 20 percent ethanol or greater are for flex-fuel vehicles only.
Nebraska is the nation’s second-largest ethanol producer, behind Iowa, and the third-largest producer of its main ingredient, corn.
