Navigator CO2 Ventures is aiming to begin operations of its 1,500-mile pipeline system that will carry CO2 from Midwest biofuel plants and other industrial facilities to permanent underground storage by early 2025, an official said this week. The company also said it expects to provide more information soon on the number of companies that have agreed to participate in the venture. “We are still finalizing commercial agreements, so that initial number of receipt points (or customers) continues to evolve by the day,” Elizabeth Burns-Thompson, vice president of government and public affairs, said in an email Wednesday. Although 2025 is being targeted for an operation date, Burns-Thompson said participants in South Dakota, Nebraska and “some of those further out might be closer to a 2026 timeline.”
