Major US retail fuel groups ask EPA to allow year-round E15 sales

Three U.S. retail fuel industry groups this week asked EPA to authorize the year-round sales of E15 to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign energy sources. In a Wednesday letter to EPA Administrator Michael Regan, the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS); SIGMA, which represents fuel marketers and chain retailers; and NATSO, which represents truck stop and travel plaza operators, said this “common-sense step would provide much-needed price relief at the pump while enhancing America’s energy security and improving gasoline’s emissions characteristics.” The groups said Congress has authorized EPA to allow E15 fuel to be sold year-round “when there are extreme or unusual fuel or fuel additive supply circumstances.
