Invitation GBC’s Great Expectations Meetng, March 12-13, 2013, Sioux Falls

Posted: Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Dear Colleague:

On behalf of Governor Branstad, Governor Quinn and Governor Daugaard, it is my pleasure to invite you to a meeting of the Governors’ Biofuels Coalition to be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Poet’s headquarters, 4615 North Lewis Avenue in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Coalition will host a reception from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Foley’s, 2507 S. Shirley Avenue. You are welcome to be our guest.

The nation’s biofuels industry now produces over 13 billion gallons of fuel each year and expansions at existing biorefineries and advanced biorefineries under construction could add billions of gallons more in annual production capacity. The governors’ policy support over the past decade to open markets and advance clean, domestic transportation fuels have been a key component in the growth of the biofuels market. Biofuels production across the nation continues to provide economic development to the states, and that’s why the governors have titled the meeting Great Expectations: The Future of the Nation’s Biofuels Industry.

Biofuels production will continue to provide economic development and clean energy to all regions of the nation. We look forward to working with you as we discuss the next steps for the nation’s biofuels industry. I hope that you will be able to join us for the Coalition’s meeting in Sioux Falls. The proposed agenda is linked below. Accommodations are available at a group rate at the Club House Hotel & Suites, 2320 South Louise Avenue, Sioux Falls, 605-361-8700. Please mention that you are attending the Coalition’s meeting at Poet.
