Ethanol Output In U.S. Rose To 919,000 Barrels A Day, DOE Says

Ethanol production in the U.S. increased to 919,000 barrels a day last week, the highest in three months, the Department of Energy said today.

Output jumped to the highest amount since Feb. 17 and extended its streak of weekly gains to four, the longest since December, according to a department report. Stockpiles climbed 3.7 percent to 21.4 million barrels, the most since April 27 and the biggest weekly gain since Jan. 27.

Production of conventional gasoline blended with ethanol fell 0.6 percent to a record 5.4 million barrels a day, the department said.

Denatured ethanol for June delivery fell 0.6 cent, or 0.3 percent, to $2.125 a gallon at 10:37 a.m. New York time on the Chicago Board of Trade.
