EIA: Ethanol production falls to 3-year low

Data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sept. 25 shows U.S. ethanol production for the week ending Sept. 20 slipped to an average of 943,000 barrels per day, the lowest level since April 2016.

Average daily ethanol production for the week was down 61,000 barrels when compared to the 1.003 million gallon per day average reported for the previous week, which ended Sept. 13. When compared to the 1.036 million barrels per day produced during the same week of 2018, production was down 93,000 barrels per day.

Weekly ethanol stocks fell to 22.5 million barrels for the week ending Sept. 20, down from 23.238 million barrels the previous week.
