D6 RINs Surge to 6-Month Highs on Expected EPA Announcement

D6 renewable identification numbers generated this year and in 2016 continued to step higher Wednesday, reaching six-month highs on expectations an announcement is forthcoming from the Environmental Protection Agency regarding Renewable Volume Obligations for 2018.

Early year concerns that the EPA was set to dramatically change the renewable fuel standard have abated, at least for the near term, with a number of analysts pointing to the complicated and lengthy process in re-engineering the RFS.

Trade sources reported 2017 D6 RINs traded from 75.0cts to 77.0cts, up 2.0cts from the prior session, with 2016 D6 RINs talked a penny higher at 75.5cts gallon. 2017 D4 biomass-based diesel RINs traded at one-month highs of $1.06 and $1.07, up a penny.
