BP will blend E15 at terminals in eight states and offer it to branded marketers as a potential replacement for midgrade gasoline or as an additional higher-octane product, BP marketers have told OPIS. The move could make BP the first major oil company to blend E15 at terminals as an approved branded product, said Robert White, vice president of industry relations for the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA). Smaller refiner CHS Inc. has made blended E15 available at a growing number of terminals, White said. The 15% ethanol-gasoline blend will be offered in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin, the major told attendees of the recent BP Amoco Marketers Association (BPAMA) convention in San Antonio, Texas.
