A new biofuel pilot program in Iowa could make drivers use more ethanol when they go to the pumps to fill up.
The program called “Fueling Our Future” aims at expanding a gasoline blend called E-30 that is 30-percent ethanol. 250-thousand federal dollars will be used to install more pumps.
Right now, many cars on the road can’t use E-30, only cars known as “flex fuel” vehicles can.
But officials say providing more Iowans with this option will help farmers and communities profit.
